6 Steps To Making Money Online | #20

Feb 09, 2023

Forget about NFTs, forget about e-commerce, forget about crypto. The latest fads promise you’ll get rich overnight, but in the real world it doesn’t work like that. It takes months and years of putting in the work every day.

These 6 steps will teach you how to start a service-based business with a high ticket offer.

First, create a website. This is where your portfolio lives. This is where your past client case studies are posted. This is where people will find a way to contact you. You can tell your prospective clients how you can help them with your service, and convince them to give you a shot. Without a website, you won’t have a business.

Two, create your offer. With no offer, you have nothing to sell. Your offer should encompass the service you are offering and include a lot of bonuses that other people in your niche don’t offer. Every niche is competitive. Differentiate yourself here. Bonuses can be things like a custom mood board, a pdf with how to optimize posts for social, free props included with the shoot, unlimited reshoots. Use bonuses to stand out.

Three, lead generation. You need to get eyeballs to your website. A website is useless if no one is going on there. My favorite strategy is cold email. Others like to do paid advertising. Some will grow their social channels organically and drive traffic to their website. If you’re an SEO genius, do that. Find a way to get clients to your website and guide them to book a call.

Four, sales call/discovery call. Your prospect saw your website, they’re interested, and they booked a call. Now it’s up to you to learn their problems, pitch how you can solve those problems, and close a deal. The purpose of this call is to see if you two are a good fit for each other. If so, it’s time to send them a proposal.

Five, the proposal. This document outlines what you do, pricing, terms, and lets the client sign on to work with you. It gets your offer in writing and is the last step in closing a deal. Once you get that signature, you’re in business. I use PandaDoc for proposals. Services like docusign work just as well.

Six, fulfillment. Finally you can do what you do best. This is where your service comes into play and you fulfill your end of the deal. Take those photos, make the video, design that logo. Do the best work possible and ensure a stellar customer experience.

This is a very basic skeleton of a service-based business, but it’s really everything you need. Nail these 6 steps down and you’ve got a business.
