Like many others, I charged hourly, which turned out to be a huge mistake.

As my skills improved, I was able to work more efficiently, but this meant earning less with hourly pricing.

I was essentially being punished for producing better results…

The solution?

Charging per deliverable.

This pricing structure not only allowed me to work more efficiently, but it also helped me make more money in the same time frame. It eliminated the issue of getting paid less for being more skilled and efficient.

Pretty quickly, an interesting pattern soon emerged. Clients trusted my judgment on the number of photos they needed, without questioning the quantity.

That's when I had a lightbulb moment: high-ticket packages.

These packages offer massive value to clients with a big price tag. This allowed me to work with fewer clients, be more selective in the projects I took on, and get bigger paychecks.

These high-ticket packages enabled me to focus more on delivering top-quality work, unlocking more creative freedom and better results for my clients.

Sure, I got more "no's" due to the price tag, but the "yes's" made it all worthwhile. The higher budget clients tended to be easier to work with, trusting me with the process and not micromanaging the work, which was an added bonus I hadn't anticipated.

Creating a compelling high-ticket package takes time and effort.

You need to provide value and convey it through case studies that demonstrate the high ROI on clients' investments.

Additionally, you should include bonuses that set you apart from other photographers. These can be fast turnaround times, free licensing, or even complimentary prop shopping.
